Feb 16, 2016· I am considering looking at a Rivera Rock Crusher (attenuator/load box) for my Mark V head. I am looking to maximize the tone at lower volumes on my Mark V head. I am playing in a house and I have volume constraints (not in an apartment). I can turn my Master on each channel to about the 89 o'clock position currently.

Jun 04, 2017· After several sound tests I ditched all other forms of lowering the amp's volume in favour of the Rivera Rockcrusher and an isolation cab I made for less than 150. Nothing sounds better in this amp to my ears than pushing those KT88 to the max. PPIMV won't give you that. The OWM is too noisy and the distortion is too wild. I never use it.

With SPL REDUCER i finally have true hot tube sound of this excellent amp even in my house. I have SPL for two days and as far i played with it I think its really minimal change of sound even at bedroom level. Check yourself some videos about SPL and you will see like i did. Its great it is pasive.
